Vietnam War Memorial - June 6-8, 2008

The Vietnam War was the longest military conflict in U.S. history. The hostilities in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia claimed the lives of more than 58,000 Americans.  Another 304,000 were wounded.  Payson, Arizona paid tribute to these brave men and women, during a 3 day event at Green Valley Park when the traveling Vietnam War Memorial Wall came to town in June, 2008.  For more information, including pictures and video, Click here.

PHOENIX–KTVK's #1 rated morning show for 14 years is once again hitting the road for two weeks this spring.  Due to the Road Trip’s success, this year the two weeks are being split into one week trips to showcase more places around Arizona. The daily four hour, M-F show will be traveling around northern Arizona showcasing some of Arizona's most historic, interesting, and beautiful places the weeks of March 31-April 4 and May 5-9.  For more information, including pictures and video, Click here.

A border town in a border area, the citizens of Payson have been of divided sympathies in the great conflict between North & South. Cries of "Save the Union!" and "States Rights and the Constitution!" were heard with equal passion on the streets of this formerly peaceful town. But then came news that Confederate soldiers had fired on Fort Sumter - and that Northern soldiers had invaded Virginia. Click here.

Sawdust Festival
Sawdust Festival Established in 1975, the Payson Sawdust Festival is fondly remembered as one of the most exciting outdoor events in Arizona.  Contestants will participate in a variety of events that will test their accuracy, skill and endurance.  At the end of the two-day event the logger with the most points will receive the coveted “Logger of the Year” award, along with other cash and prizes. Click here.
