What is National Night Out?
The Payson Police Department, along with the National Association of Town Watch, is gearing up for another National Night Out. Last year Payson received a national award for our participation in the National Night Out and this year we are asking for your help.
On August first, there will be a day long celebration at Green Valley Park with games for children and loads of fun. This year we are looking for businesses/organizations to plan, organize, find sponsors for and man an activity on that day. If you are a local business or service club and would be willing to be a part of this great day, call 474-5242, ext. 209 for more information. Last year the crowd was great and this year will be even better.
August fourth will be the actual National Night Out, with block parties and neighborhood get-togethers. We are looking for neighborhoods that want to be a part of this night out. Lock your doors and turn on your lights and party with your neighbors! Let the department know where you will be and an officer from Payson Police will stop by, visit and answer questions you may have. Get out the grills and the hot dogs and have a block party! Get to know your neighbors. This does reduce crime rates!
